Westbridge Capital Adds VP, Corporate Development
Westbridge Capital Ltd. (“Westbridge”) is pleased to announce the addition of Jonine Mostert as Vice President, Corporate Development as of August 15, 2022.
Jonine is based in Calgary, Alberta and comes to Westbridge after an extensive career working primarily with central banks, most recently with the Bank of Canada. Although based in Calgary, Jonine will often be working from the Saskatoon head office and assume ownership of various responsibilities, including corporate communications, strategic planning, deal origination and negotiations, due diligence support, and investor relations.
Jonine Mostert, VP, Corporate Development
Jonine Mostert has more than 20 years of experience in international capital markets. She started her career in South Africa, trading the ZAR interest rate derivatives portfolio for one of the biggest local banks. Jonine then spent nearly seven years in Europe; she was a senior trader at the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland where she managed the Euro portfolio interest rate risk. She also held trading roles at Syngenta Treasury in Basel, and at UBS in Zurich.
Before emigrating to Canada, she worked as a fixed income analyst for Coronation Fund Managers in Cape Town, South Africa.
For the last decade, Jonine was a senior portfolio manager in the Foreign Reserves Management team at the Bank of Canada. She was responsible for investing the US$80 billion fixed income portfolio on behalf of the Government of Canada and for developing policy with regards to reserves management. She managed Canada’s MTN funding program and has been instrumental in the issuance of US$ Global Benchmark bonds for the Canadian government. From 2018 to 2021, Jonine was selected to spend three years at the Banque de France in Paris, trading the European Central Bank’s USD and JPY fixed income portfolios at Banque de France.
