Gord Stewart Appointed as Independent Trustee of the Westbridge Capital Partners Income Trust
Westbridge Capital Partners Income Trust (the Fund) announces the appointment of Gord Stewart as Independent Trustee.
We are pleased to have Mr. Stewart appointed in the capacity of Independent Trustee of the Fund. After 42 years of service, Mr. Stewart recently retired from KPMG LLP, Chartered Public Accountants (KPMG), where he became a partner in 1990. He has served numerous clients in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors across various industries. Mr. Stewart’s public company focus was in the mining industry, and his private company experience includes serving larger clients in the manufacturing, agricultural, and retail sectors.
Mr. Stewart obtained his business degree in 1979, followed by joining KPMG. He then obtained his CPA designation in 1981. He was awarded the title of Fellow Chartered Public Accountant (FCPA) in 1998 for service to his profession and community.
Throughout his career, Mr. Stewart advanced his education by taking strategic planning courses at Babson College in Boston, business management courses in Chicago, and international mining industry training in South Africa, Australia, and the United States.
Mr. Stewart is currently a board member of the Royal University Hospital Foundation in Saskatoon. Prior, he has served on the Board of Directors of Saskatchewan Blue Cross, The Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, The University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association, and is a past member of the University of Saskatchewan Senate. He has served on the Interprovincial Board of Examiners, as Chair of the International Qualifications Appraisals Board, along with several provincial and national committees dealing with the education and training of CPAs.
